The Rope Braid

Shakespeare in the Park: Romeo and Juliet

For a lovely early evening and into night the pulled back, a loose hair style and flowy maxi dress provide the perfect feel.
Nashville, you are the best.

LIE: Twists won't stay in place.
LACE: (The beautiful, yet delicate truth to the typical hair myths that girls often buy into) When styled properly a twist will be secure. Twists are perfectly simple, yet look completely complicated.

In this case, I started the style as a twist on the right side of my head and added sections of hair as I went down.

Leave enough looseness for the style to not look too tight, but start the twist relatively tight until you reach right above the nape of your neck.

Take the twist you already started and add the rest of your hair to it, but instead of twisting the new section in, cross the two sections over each other the full length of your hair.
TIP 1: Crossing the two sections over each other should be as tight as possible because it will unravel some.

Tip 2: If you have layers like I do, then trying this style while your hair is a completely wet or a little greasy helps it hold shape as it dries.

I love the balance of loose and tight this hair style holds. It perfectly mirrors my long, form fitting, yet flowing dress.
